Sponsored LinksTitle XLVIII K-20 EDUCATION CODEChapter 1000 K-20 GENERAL PROVISIONS1000.04 Components for the delivery of public education within the Florida K-20 education system.--Florida's K-20 education system provides for the delivery of public education through publicly supported and controlled K-12 schools, community colleges, state universities and other postsecondary educational institutions, other educational institutions, and other educational services as provided or authorized by the Constitution and laws of the state. (1) PUBLIC K-12 SCHOOLS.--The public K-12 schools include charter schools and consist of kindergarten classes; elementary, middle, and high school grades and special classes; workforce education; career centers; adult, part-time, and evening schools, courses, or classes, as authorized by law to be operated under the control of district school boards; and lab schools operated under the control of state universities. (2) PUBLIC POSTSECONDARY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS.--Public postsecondary educational institutions include workforce education; community colleges; colleges; state universities; and all other state-supported postsecondary educational institutions that are authorized and established by law. (3) FLORIDA SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF AND THE BLIND.--The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind is a component of the delivery of public education within Florida's K-20 education system. (4) THE FLORIDA VIRTUAL SCHOOL.--The Florida Virtual School is a component of the delivery of public education within Florida's K-20 education system.
