Section 5. (A) Except when driving under a learner’s permit to operate a commercial vehicle and accompanied by the holder of a license to operate a commercial motor vehicle valid for the vehicle being driven, no person may drive a commercial motor vehicle unless the person holds and is in immediate possession of a license to operate a commercial motor vehicle valid for the vehicle they are driving. (B) No person may operate a commercial motor vehicle while their driving privilege is suspended, revoked, cancelled, subject to a disqualification, or in violation of an out of service order.
