Sec. 24b. Members of the board shall be qualified electors of the county and shall take and subscribe to the constitutional oath of office. No person holding an elective public office shall be eligible for membership on the board of county canvassers. If any member of the board of county canvassers, during his term of office, becomes a candidate for any elective public office, his office shall be vacant.
