New Jersey Real Estate Commission. 3. There shall be within the Department of Banking and Insurance a division which shall be known as the division of the New Jersey Real Estate Commission. The terms of office of the members of the commission as of the effective date of this 1996 amendatory and supplementary act shall not be affected by this act. The commission shall continue to be constituted and the members thereof shall continue to be appointed as provided by law. L.1948,c.88,s.3; amended 1996, c.45, s.5. 17:1-5. Seal of office; certificates under seal as evidence The seal of office of the commissioner, filed in the department of state, shall continue as the seal of such office. Every certificate, assignment, conveyance or other official paper executed by the commissioner under authority of law and sealed with the seal, shall be received as evidence and may be recorded in proper recording offices in the same manner and with the same effect as a deed duly acknowledged or proved before an officer authorized by law to take proof or acknowledgment of deeds. All copies of papers in the office of the commissioner, certified by him and authenticated by the seal, shall be accepted as evidence equally and in like manner as the original.
