Nothing in this section shall be construed to exempt a company from paying any other special purpose assessment made pursuant to any applicable law in effect on the effective date of this act. c. Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection a. of this section, any fee imposed by the Department of Insurance for the periodic examination of domestic insurers pursuant to section 3 of P.L.1993, c.236 (C.17:23-22) shall remain in effect. d. Nothing in this section shall exempt a company from paying any fine or penalty imposed by the commissioner for a violation of a statute or regulation. L.1995,c.156,s.12.
