Art. 19.14. [345] [396] [384] SUMMONING. The sheriff shall
summon the persons named in the list at least three days, exclusive
of the day of service, prior to the day on which the grand jury is to
be impaneled, by giving personal notice to each juror of the time
and place when and where he is to attend as a grand juror, or by
leaving at his place of residence with a member of his family over
sixteen years old, a written notice to such juror that he has been
selected as a grand juror, and the time and place when and where he
is to attend; or the judge, at his election, may direct the sheriff
to summon the grand jurors by registered or certified mail.
