§ 66.61. DEFINITIONS. In this subchapter:
(1) "Board" means the Board for Lease of University
Lands.
(2) "Board of regents" means the board of regents of
The University of Texas System, except where otherwise specified.
(3) "Commissioner" means the commissioner of the
General Land Office.
(4) "Oil and gas" means crude oil, natural gas, and all
substances, including other hydrocarbons, produced in association
with crude oil and natural gas.
(5) "University lands" means land dedicated to the
permanent university fund.
(6) "Well" means an oil or gas well that has been
assigned a well number by the state agency having regulatory
jurisdiction over the production of oil and gas. A single wellbore
may contain more than one well.
