§ 201.028. DECEASED OR INELIGIBLE CANDIDATE RECEIVING VOTE REQUIRED FOR ELECTION. If a deceased or ineligible candidate receives the vote required for election to an office, a vacancy occurs on the date the final canvass of the election is completed. Acts 1985, 69th Leg., ch. 211, § 1, eff. Jan. 1, 1986.
