§ 201.029. DECLINATION OF OFFICER-ELECT. If an officer-elect declines to qualify for the office before assuming office for the term for which elected, a vacancy in the term occurs on the date the declination is delivered to the appropriate authority. Acts 1985, 69th Leg., ch. 211, § 1, eff. Jan. 1, 1986.
