§ 162.0045. PREFERENTIAL SETTING. The court shall grant a motion for a preferential setting for a final hearing on an adoption and shall give precedence to that hearing over all other civil cases not given preference by other law if the social study has been filed and the criminal history for the person seeking to adopt the child has been obtained. Added by Acts 1997, 75th Leg., ch. 561, § 15, eff. Sept. 1, 1997.
