§ 45.005. LIABILITIES AND RIGHTS UNAFFECTED. A change of name does not: (1) release a child from any liability incurred in the child's previous name; or (2) defeat any right the child had in the child's previous name. Amended by Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 20, § 1, eff. April 20, 1995.
