§ 6.411. CONFIDENTIALITY OF PLEADINGS. (a) This section applies only in a county with a population of 3.4 million or more. (b) Except as otherwise provided by law, all pleadings and other documents filed with the court in a suit for dissolution of a marriage are confidential, are excepted from required public disclosure under Chapter 552, Government Code, and may not be released to a person who is not a party to the suit until after the date of service of citation or the 31st day after the date of filing the suit, whichever date is sooner. Added by Acts 2003, 78th Leg., ch. 1314, § 1, eff. Sept. 1, 2003. Renumbered from V.T.C.A., Family Code § 6.410 by Acts 2005, 79th Leg., ch. 728, § 23.001(24), eff. Sept. 1, 2005.
