§ 81.209. USE OF PHYSICAL RESTRAINT. (a) A physical restraint may not be applied to a person unless a physician prescribes the restraint. (b) A physical restraint shall be removed as soon as possible. (c) Each use of a physical restraint and the reason for the use shall be made a part of the patient's clinical record. The physician who prescribed the restraint shall sign the record. Acts 1989, 71st Leg., ch. 678, § 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1989.
