§ 11.001. DEFINITIONS. Except as provided by Section 40.001, in this title: (1) "Board" means the Texas Board of Human Services. (2) "Department" means the Texas Department of Human Services. (3) "Commissioner" means the Commissioner of Human Services. (4) "Assistance" means all forms of assistance and services for needy persons authorized by Subtitle C. (5) "Financial assistance" means money payments for needy persons authorized by Chapter 31. (6) "Medical assistance" means assistance for needy persons authorized by Chapter 32.
