§ 406.002. COVERAGE GENERALLY ELECTIVE.  (a) Except for 
public employers and as otherwise provided by law, an employer may 
elect to obtain workers' compensation insurance coverage.
	(b)  An employer who elects to obtain coverage is subject to 
this subtitle.
