§ 6.001. AUTHORITY TO INCORPORATE AS TYPE A GENERAL-LAW MUNICIPALITY. A community may incorporate under this subchapter as a Type A general-law municipality if it: (1) constitutes an unincorporated city or town; (2) contains 600 or more inhabitants; and (3) meets the territorial requirements prescribed by Section 5.901. Acts 1987, 70th Leg., ch. 149, § 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1987.
