§ 85.023. UNFINISHED BUSINESS. If a sheriff vacates the office for any reason, all unfinished business shall be transferred to the succeeding sheriff and completed in the same manner as if the successor had begun the business. Acts 1987, 70th Leg., ch. 149, § 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1987.
