§ 117.053. CRIMINAL PENALTY FOR VIOLATION OF CHAPTER AND RULES. (a) A person who intentionally violates this chapter or a rule adopted under this chapter commits an offense. (b) An offense under this section is punishable by a fine of not more than $25,000, confinement in the Texas Department of Corrections for a term of not more than five years, or both such fine and imprisonment. Added by Acts 1983, 68th Leg., p. 4914, ch. 873, § 1, eff. Aug. 29, 1983.
