§ 226. SUBSEQUENT EXECUTORS ALSO SUCCEED TO PRIOR RIGHTS
AND DUTIES. Whenever an executor shall accept and qualify after
letters of administration shall have been granted upon the estate,
such executor shall, in like manner, succeed to the previous
administrator, and he shall administer the estate in like manner as
if his administration were a continuation of the former one,
subject, however, to any legal directions of the testator contained
in the will in relation to the estate.
