§ 55.021. EXTENDED AREA SERVICE. After notice and a hearing, the commission may order one or more local exchange companies that are dominant carriers to provide: (1) mandatory extended area service in accordance with Section 55.022; or (2) optional extended area service in accordance with Section 55.023. Acts 1997, 75th Leg., ch. 166, § 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1997.
