                              DECISION ON APPEAL                                      
               Zine-Eddine Boutaghou appeals from the final rejection of              
          claims 1-18, all of the pending claims in the application.1                 


                                    THE INVENTION                                     
               The invention relates to a data storage slider designed to             
          takeoff from and fly above a read/write disc during operation due           
          to lift produced by rotation of the disc.  To decrease stiction             
          during takeoff, the slider includes feet which reduce the area of
