          Application No. 08/845,673

strip with the layer 6 can be shaped to a ring, as
shown in Fig. 4 by reference number 8. Preferably,
before the bending of the metal screen or the
perforated strip 1 with the applied layer 6, the edges
are first cut to the desired width of the grinding
               disc.
After closing of the metal screen or perforated
strip 1 with the applied sintered layer 6, a
cylindrical bearing section 9 is inserted into the
inside of the ring 8, and ring 8 is bonded to the
circumference area 9a of the bearing section, whereby
an appropriate intermediate layer 10 may be used
               [translation, page 3].
The German reference adds that the bearing section
9 comprises mainly plastic (see page 4 in the translation), and
that the resulting disc has a strong abrasive layer and is
inexpensive and relatively light due to the small cross-sectional
area of the ring 8 as compared with the cross-sectional area of
the bearing section 9 (see page 3 in the translation).
Anticipation is established only when a single prior art
reference discloses, expressly or under principles of inherency,
each and every element of a claimed invention. RCA Corp. v.
          Applied Digital Data Sys., Inc., 730 F.2d 1440, 1444, 221 USPQ
385, 388 (Fed. Cir. 1984). It is not necessary that the
reference teach what the subject application teaches, but only
that the claim read on something disclosed in the reference,
i.e., that all of the limitations in the claim be found in or
