THE INVENTION
The invention relates to “a floor panel for an automobile”
(specification, page 1). Representative claim 1 reads as
follows:
1. A floor panel for a vehicle comprising:
a floor tunnel; and
a protrusion portion extending in a transverse direction
opposing a direction of the floor tunnel and crossing the floor
tunnel.
THE REJECTION
Claims 1 through 4 and 9 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C.
§ 102(b) as being anticipated by U.S. Patent No. 3,419,303 to
Eggert, Jr. et al. (Eggert).
Attention is directed to the main and reply briefs (filed
January 7, 2004 and April 9, 2004) and the answer (mailed
February 10, 2004) for the respective positions of the appellant
and the examiner regarding the merits of this rejection.
