not disclose modifying the reference time interval for ordinary paper to make a
different reference time interval for tabbed paper. Sakamaki does not disclose or
suggest using different jam-detection reference time intervals for different types of
           sheets.
From our review of the record, we make the following findings of fact from
           the disclosure of Sugiyama.
Fact 1: When there is feeding paper switch between tabbed papers
and regular papers during copying processing, transporting
time difference based on the difference of the transportation
path length up to the resist roller pair between paper feeding
tray 61 and paper feeding tray 62 is added to or subtracted from
feeding paper interval of the previously fed paper, thus [the] paper
feeding interval is calculated, and using a specified timing based
on this calculation, the current paper to be fed is fed. (Sugiyama:
                       translation; p 2 ll. 14-22)
Fact 2: Above described first paper storage part is structured such that
it requires the first transporting time to transport the paper
up to image forming part, the second paper storage part is
structured such that in order to transport papers up to the image
forming part, it requires the second transporting time [to be] longer
                 than
the above described first transporting time. (Sugiyama:
                       translation; p 4 ll. 4-9)
Fact 3: In case the tabbed paper and ordinary paper are mixed and fed
continuously, during switching time of tabbed paper and ordinary
paper, the paper feeding interval needs to be changed, the possibility
is that malfunctions occur wherein (i) the copying efficiency is not
optimum, (2) since the copying processing of the currently fed paper
is faster than the copying processing of the previously fed paper,
both papers overlap in the middle of the processing, thus causing
                       jamming. (Sugiyama: translation; p 7 l. 24 to p 8 l. 1)

                                                 6
