located either in the upright sections of the wire legs or in the
upper rim. The offset construction laterally displace[s] each
wire leg relative to the upper rim . . .
22. On August 12, 1999, the Examiner entered a Notice of
Allowability and Examiner’s Amendment indicating claims 1-6 were
allowable.

24. On October 14, 1999, Appellant filed an Amendment under
37 C.F.R. § 1.312 to correct Figures 12 and 13. As filed, the offsets in the
upper rim of Figures 12 and 13 do not laterally displace each wire leg
relative to said upper rim as required by amended claim 1. The amendment
