California Elections Code Section 340

CA Elec Code § 340 (2017)  

(a) “Presidential primary” is the primary election that is held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in June in any year that is evenly divisible by the number four, and at which delegations to national party conventions are to be chosen.

(b) This section shall remain in effect only until January 1, 2019, and as of that date is repealed.
