Hawaii Revised Statutes 356d-161 State Sales Housing.

[§356D-161] State sales housing. Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, the authority shall have and may exercise the same powers, subject to applicable limitations, as those granted the Hawaii housing finance and development corporation pursuant to the sales provisions of sections 201H-45 through 201H-50, and may permit any member of a tenant family of a public housing project, or any qualified individual meeting the income standards under section 221(d)(3) of the United States Housing Act of 1937, as amended, to enter into a contract for the acquisition of a dwelling unit and lot or the acquisition of a dwelling unit and the lease of its lot, the lease to conform to chapter 171 with the exception that the lease shall not require bid, auction, or negotiation, in any public housing project, state low-income housing project, or elderly housing project that is suitable for sale and for occupancy by the purchaser or a member or members of the purchaser's family.
