General Laws of Massachusetts - Chapter 112 Registration of Certain Professions and Occupations - Section 19 Unprofessional conduct; definition; regulation by board

Section 19. “Unprofessional conduct”, as used in section eighteen, shall include: (a) the wilful betrayal of a professional secret; (b) lending the use of one’s name to an unregistered podiatrist, or having professional connection with such a person or with anyone convicted of any offense involving moral turpitude; (c) the selling or giving of any substance or compound containing alcohol or narcotic drugs for other than legal purposes; (d) written or printed statements of a character tending to claim professional superiority or the performance of professional services in a superior manner; (e) the inclusion of any fraudulent, misleading or deceptive statement in any form of advertising; and (f) any violation of any rule or regulation under section seventeen A.

The board may, by regulation, in a manner consistent with the foregoing, further regulate advertising by persons subject to its jurisdiction.
