General Laws of Massachusetts - Chapter 33 Militia - Section 100 Dress uniforms

Section 100. Any unit of the military forces of the commonwealth may, with the approval of a majority of its officers and of the commander-in-chief, adopt a distinctive dress uniform other than that prescribed under section ninety-eight, procured at its own expense, but such uniforms will not be worn, except by permission of the commander-in-chief, when such unit is on duty under his orders.
