388.1302 Education council.

Sec. 2.

The education council composed of the members of the education commission of the states representing this state, and 3 other persons appointed by the governor for terms of 3 years is established within the department of education. The other persons shall be selected so as to be broadly representative of professional and lay interest within this state having the responsibilities for, knowledge with respect to, and interest in educational matters. The chairman shall be designated by the governor from among its members. The council shall meet on the call of its chairman or at the request of a majority of its members, but in any event the council shall meet not less than 3 times in each year. The council may consider any matters relating to recommendations of the education commission of the states and the activities of the members in representing this state thereon.
