388.1624a Allocations for 2015-2016; payments to intermediate districts for pupils placed in juvenile justice service facilities.

Sec. 24a.

From the appropriation in section 11, there is allocated an amount not to exceed $2,189,800.00 for 2015-2016 for payments to intermediate districts for pupils who are placed in juvenile justice service facilities operated by the department of health and human services. Each intermediate district shall receive an amount equal to the state share of those costs that are clearly and directly attributable to the educational programs for pupils placed in facilities described in this section that are located within the intermediate district's boundaries. The intermediate districts receiving payments under this section shall cooperate with the department of health and human services to ensure that all funding allocated under this section is utilized by the intermediate district and department of health and human services for educational programs for pupils described in this section. Pupils described in this section are not eligible to be funded under section 24. However, a program responsibility or other fiscal responsibility associated with these pupils shall not be transferred from the department of health and human services to a district or intermediate district unless the district or intermediate district consents to the transfer.
