750.411b Excess fees to members of legislature, for services.

Sec. 411b.

It shall be unlawful for any person after he has been elected or while he is a member of the state legislature to be employed by any person, firm, association or corporation who shall pay or agree to pay for the services rendered or to be rendered any moneys or other valuable consideration in excess of the reasonable value of such service if the same was performed by a person not a member of the legislature when such person, firm, association or corporation will directly or indirectly benefit from the passage of any bill or law or the defeat of any bill or law by the state legislature whether the subject matter of the employment is related to proposed legislation or not. It shall be unlawful for any person who is a member of the legislature to accept payment for any services which he shall perform exclusively in connection with the passage or defeat of any bill, act or amendment thereto.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a felony.
