Nevada Revised Statutes Section 176.486 - Procedure in Criminal Cases

Authority to enter stay of execution. A district court having proper jurisdiction or the Supreme Court, if it has proper jurisdiction, may stay the execution of a sentence of death when a postconviction petition for habeas corpus has been filed only after appropriate notice has been given to the appropriate respondent in the case.
