Nevada Revised Statutes Section 50.053 - Witnesses and Evidence

Interpreters for person with disability: Oath; rights and privileges. [Effective July 1, 2005.]

1. Before undertaking his duties, the interpreter shall swear or affirm that he will make a true interpretation in an understandable manner to the person for whom he has been appointed, and that he will repeat the statements of the person with a disability in the English language to the best of his ability.

2. While in the proper performance of his duties, an interpreter acts in the place of the person with a disability and to that extent has all of the rights and privileges of that person for purposes of the proceeding, including access to all relevant material.
