North Carolina General Statutes § 55-8-07 Resignation of directors

(a)        A director may resign at any time by communicating his resignation to the board of directors, its chair, or the corporation.

(b)        A resignation is effective when it is communicated unless it specifies in writing a later effective date or subsequent event upon which it will become effective.
