(1) As the Oregon Department of Administrative Services develops a master plan under ORS 276.033, the department shall inform the governing body and the planning commission of the City of Salem of the plan.
(2) The department shall make all possible efforts to obtain the cooperation of officers and commissions of the City of Salem for the purpose of establishing the zoning of that part of the city contiguous to the capitol area that will effectuate the purpose of the State of Oregon to maintain its administrative buildings in a continuous and parklike area.
