Oregon Statutes - Chapter 401 - Emergency Services and Communications - Section 401.106 - Legislative findings.

(1) The Legislative Assembly finds that during an abnormal disruption of the market, some merchants and wholesalers have taken unconscionable advantage of consumers by charging grossly excessive prices for essential consumer goods and services.

(2) To prevent merchants and wholesalers from taking unconscionable advantage of consumers during an abnormal disruption of the market, the Legislative Assembly declares that the public interest requires that charging unconscionably excessive prices be prohibited and made subject to regulation as an unlawful trade practice.
