(1) The Department of Human Services shall determine and certify to the eligibility of all individuals and households to receive food stamp benefits under a food stamp plan.
(2) The department shall:
(a) Issue to recipients food stamp benefits made available from the federal government under such plan; and
(b) Account to the federal government for all such food stamp benefits.
(3) In order to carry out the provisions of ORS 411.806 to 411.845, the department is authorized to contract with any governmental agencies or private agencies for distribution of food stamp benefits. [1963 c.559 §10; 1971 c.779 §28; 1975 c.179 §2; 1997 c.581 §12]
