Oregon Statutes - Chapter 565 - Fairs and Exhibits - Section 565.410 - County Fair Commission; members; terms; vacancies.

(1) There hereby is established the County Fair Commission, consisting of eight members. The Director of Agriculture, or a staff member of the State Department of Agriculture appointed by the director, shall serve as a member of the commission without vote. The director shall appoint seven other members who are persons interested in fair activities. Three of such members must reside in the area east of the Cascade Mountains, three members must reside in the area west of the Cascade Mountains, and one member shall be from the state at large.

(2) The term of office of each voting member is three years, but all members serve at the pleasure of the director. Before the expiration of the term of a voting member, the director shall appoint a successor whose term begins on January 1 next following. A voting member is eligible for reappointment, but no voting member may serve more than two consecutive terms. If there is a vacancy for any cause, the director shall make an appointment to become immediately effective for the unexpired term. [1969 c.298 §3]
