The Department of Transportation may issue a placard showing an expiration date not to exceed six months after the date of issuance for use by persons with temporary disabilities upon submission by the applicant of a certificate described in ORS 811.604 except that it certifies that the applicant has a temporary disability for less than four years. An applicant for a temporary permit need not have a driver license, permit or identification card.
