          profile" of the communications channel.  Thus, Watanabe does not            
          render obvious the subject matter of claim 31.  The rejection of            
          claim 31 is reversed.                                                       
                                     CONCLUSION                                       
               The rejection of claims 1 and 31 is reversed.
