    § 805. Personnel; compensation.  1. The commissioner by official order
  may assign to the work of the board, or any part thereof, any officer or
  employee  of  the department, who shall perform such services under this
  article as the commissioner may direct. The persons so  appointed  shall
  not  receive  any  additional  compensation  for services performed, but
  shall be allowed their actual and necessary  expenses  incurred  in  the
  performance of their duties under this article.
    2.  Each  appointive  member  of  the  board  shall  be entitled to be
  reimbursed for his traveling and other expenses actually and necessarily
  incurred by him in the performances of  his  duties  and,  in  addition,
  shall  receive a compensation to be fixed by the commissioner within the
  amount available by appropriation.
