General Laws of Massachusetts - Chapter 33 Militia - Section 59A Military service of public employees; work release for drills

Section 59A. Any person in the service of the commonwealth, or of a county, city or town which has accepted the provisions of section fifty-nine, shall be entitled, during the time of his service in the armed forces of the commonwealth or during his tour of duty as a member of a reserve component of the armed forces of the United States, to be released from his work, without compensation, in order to attend assigned weekly and weekend drills which require absence from his normally scheduled work tour. Such release from work shall not affect his leaves of absence or vacation with pay, and he shall receive the same leaves of absence or vacation with pay given to other like employees or officials.
