Section 45-44-231.41 - Definitions.

Certain terms, as used in this subpart, shall have the following meaning:

(1) BOARD. The county rehabilitation board composed of the probate judge, the district attorney, the sheriff, the circuit judge, the superintendent of education, the head of the ministerial conference, the juvenile probation officer, the probation officer, the Chair of the Macon County Commission, the mayors of all towns and cities within Macon County, the president of each public school parent-teacher association, the president of the county civic association, a representative of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, and a representative of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Also, a social worker and a physician, preferably a psychologist or a psychiatrist, shall be appointed by the legislative delegation. Also, four residents of Macon County: One adult male, one adult female, one minor male, and one minor female shall be named by the legislative delegation representing Macon County. The senator, or the representative or representatives of Macon County, shall individually or jointly convene persons named in this section and shall preside over the meetings. The four Macon County residents' term of office as members of the board shall end when the term of office of the appointing authority ends. Any vacancy in the positions filled by the four residents shall be filled by the appointing authority.

(2) INMATE. A prisoner, either male or female, convicted of a crime and sentenced to a term of confinement in the county jail.
