(a) Within 60 days after receiving an application under AS 26.30.010 submitted in compliance with this chapter, after considering comments under AS 26.30.010 (e), the adjutant general may designate a military facility zone. The adjutant general shall specify the location and boundaries of the military facility zone.
(b) The designation of an area as a military facility zone is effective for 20 years, beginning on the date the adjutant general designates the area as a military facility zone.
(c) Unless the area of the municipality exceeds 500 square miles, only two military facility zones may be in effect in a municipality at one time.
(d) The decision of the adjutant general on an application to designate a military facility zone is a final administrative order subject to appeal to the superior court for review in the manner provided under AS 44.62.560 .
