16-448. Write-in votes; marking with rubber stamp or other devices; instructions

A. Whenever ballots are to be counted by electronic data processing equipment, all write-in votes for candidates, to be counted, shall be marked by the voter with the rubber stamp or other marking device in the space provided opposite the names of the write-in candidates. The instructions to voters printed on the ballots shall instruct the voter that the vote will not be counted unless the rubber stamp or other marking device is used in marking the ballot when writing in a candidate's name.

B. When ballot cards are used to record votes, write-in votes may be recorded by writing the name of the candidate and the office title on a separate ballot, which may be in the form of a card or envelope.
