36-1645. Definitions

In this article, unless the context otherwise requires:

1. " Approved smoke detector" means an electronic device powered by batteries or alternating current which is capable of sensing visible or invisible products of combustion, which sounds an alarm audible in all sleeping areas of a guest unit and which meets the standards prescribed by the state fire safety committee pursuant to section 41-2146.

2. " Automatic fire extinguishing equipment" means a mechanical system which puts out fires by ejecting chemicals or water.

3. " Guest unit" means a room in a motel or hotel which is offered for lodging.
