Arkansas Code § 25-10-202 - Definitions

As used in this subchapter, unless the context otherwise requires:

(1) "Blind", for the purposes of qualification for appointment as a member of the Board of the Division of State Services for the Blind within the Department of Human Services, means a person having not more than twenty/two hundred (20/200) visual acuity in the better eye with corrective lenses, or visual acuity greater than twenty/two hundred (20/200), but with a limitation in the field of vision such that the widest diameter of the visual field subtends an angle of no greater than twenty degrees (20 degrees); and

(2) "Visually handicapped", as a term, shall be defined by regulations of the board, and the board shall have sole and exclusive authority to define and determine whether any person is "blind" or "visually handicapped" for purposes of determining eligibility to participate in government programs under this subchapter.
