Appeal No. 95-0966 Application 07/984,079 THE INVENTION Appellant's invention is directed to a process for the preparation of substituted anilines having side chains of fluorinated alkoxy or thioalkyl groups. The substituted anilines have the formula (I) as follows. in which R represents hydrogen, chlorine, C -C - alkyl or C -C - alkoxy,1 4 1 4 X represents oxygen or sulphur and Y represents fluorine, CF or CF C1 or, together with the CF -X radical, represents an3 2 2 -O-CF - CF -O-group whose two oxygen atoms are bonded in o-position to each other in2 2 the aromatic ring, The substituted aniline, as defined by formula (I), is prepared by the reaction of chlorinated aromatic compounds with ammonia in the presence of a catalyst at a temperature of 200 to 280 C. Claim 1 iso illustrative of the invention and is reproduced below. 2Page: Previous 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 NextLast modified: November 3, 2007
