Appeal No. 96-1228 Application 08/127,480 BARRETT, Administrative Patent Judge. DECISION ON APPEAL This is a decision on appeal under 35 U.S.C. § 134 from the final rejection of claims 1-3. Claims 4-6 have been withdrawn pursuant to a restriction requirement. Claims 7 and 8 have been canceled. We affirm. BACKGROUND The invention is directed to a nozzle plate for an ink jet recording device having a nozzle hole in which an ink-repellant coating is provided on the front surface of the nozzle plate, the inner surface of the nozzle hole, and "a portion around said nozzle hole contiguous to said rear surface of said nozzle plate." Claim 1 is reproduced below. 1.
